Project Recon customers,
Thank you for your patience as we've been slowly working toward the 2.0 release. We've been up to our necks in another project but it has started to slow down, so I was finally able to fix some of the outstanding bugs in the 2.0 beta and have done an internal release of a 2.0 release candidate. Our team has been dogfooding it for a couple weeks now -- it's stable, but there are a few annoyances that need to be fixed before it is ready for the public. I'm working on those now.
For a reminder, 2.0 brings some major features to the table:
* A "live" ticking time
* A "pause" button
* Add To-do ability in the PR interface
* Complete To-do checkbox in the PR interface
Also, I wanted to let you know that I've had some preliminary success prototyping a shift from the .Net/IE platform to the Python/FF platform (XULRunner+pyXPCOM). This shift will mean greater stability, speed and hopefully support for user-scripts in either Python or Javascript.

Can I try it out?

Yes, definitely. I'm emailing you a private link to the release candidate right now.

Looking forward to 2.0!
And I love the sound of moving to Python/FF. I'd love to be able to extend functionaloty with my own scripts!

This is great, I would love to try out the release candidate if possible.

Thanks, Simon. I tried to prepare a final release candidate before I went on vacation last week, but couldn't quite pull it together. I hope to have a final Release Candidate available for testing soon.

I look forward to being able to add to-do items right from PR. Could I also participate in the beta? Thanks!

Brian,
I'd love to send you the latest RC, as there are some lingering usability glitches and I'd appreciate the help identifying them so we can make sure it's rock-solid. However, there are three different "Brian"s who have purchased Project Recon recently -- if you give me a clue as to your last name or email address (or just send an email requesting the RC), I'll send it your way immediately.

Hi Peter,
Neither version of PR works very well for me anymore, I keep losing scroll bar and its very slow and buggy....any ideas on a new release, its just not working right for me anymore so I feel like the money I spent was for nothing. It uses way to many resources, I randomly lose the scroll bar and other strange artifacts have been happening lately. I am hoping the new release will fix many of these problems.

Hi Peter,
Can I try out v2.0?

Seany187: the scrollbar issue is caused by a change in IE8 (which Project Recon uses internally for rendering) -- I've fixed this issue in the latest 2.x release candidate & (if I remember correctly) in the 1.x branch as well.
Tanvir: Sure!
I'll send you both the latest via email as soon as I get to work (in a couple hours -- it's 6:30am here).
I'm painfully aware that it's long past time for a final 2.0 release candidate, as well as an email to all our existing customers with a link to the latest 1.x version that renders properly when IE8 is installed. I'll talk to my boss and see what I can do to accelerate things.

Hello Peter, this thread was opened a few months back so I was wondering if there's a new release? pokie slots

James Turner,
Yes, 2.0 has been released as has 2.1 -- there is an announcement for each in this forum, here's a link to the 2.1 announcement: http://www.projectrecon.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=145. This thread was bumped to the top above those threads because of some recent spam, which I just cleaned up.
If you email me with your company name, I can email you a link for a free upgrade or a $10 upgrade, depending on eligibility.
