I installed PR yesterday and everything was working great! Then today I went to demo it to my employees and of coarse the program doesn't work. PR won't update Basecamp. After waiting some time for the loading circle to run I get an error in the bottom status bar of PR. This is the following error: HTTP Error 12002: Unkown URL: https://chicagodigital.basecamphq.com/project/list (sometimes it will be this https://chicagodigital.basecamphq.com/t … 4/20100104).
I uninstalled PR and restarted my computer. I then installed PR and the same thing happens. I turned off my firewall and no luck. There doesn't seem to be any settings to mess with in PR. I downloaded PR yesterday from the website so it is likely that I have the latest version (v2.07)
Please let me know what I can do to fix this problem. Thank you!

chicagodigital,
The 12002 error is a timeout error - if it works now (but didn't work yesterday for a period of time), then the most likely reason is that Basecamp's API was down. This has happened intermittently ever since the Authentication change on December 13th and we've been hounding them to send a proper response indicating that the API is temporarily down for maintenance, but to my knowledge they haven't yet done this. I'll ping them again about it.
The other possibility is that there is a network problem between your computer and Basecamp's servers, causing the network connection to timeout. To (mostly) rule out this possibility, check if you can reach Basecamp's web interface with a browser.
Also, 2.0.7 isn't the latest version - we just emailed all our customers links to 2.1, a critical update which will need to be in place before February 1st, when Basecamp discontinues their old API authentication method. If you can't find this email or don't want to dig for it, just let me know what name or email address you purchased Project Recon with and I'll forward the email to your current address.

Thank you for your quick response. I have tested this out on many computers (on different networks) and they all seem to work initially but then after some time they all get the same error. Please send the latest release to mikes@chicagodigital.com.
